The MCM London Comic Con will be furthering its plans for world domination when this October it will spread across both sides of the ExCel Centre. For those that know how big the Excel Centre is, that’s one hell of an expansion. 25,000 m2 to 34,000 m2, in fact.
Last month’s MCM London Comic Con reportedly attracted over 76,000 visitors, and over the past few years has expanded to accommodate video gamers as well as sci-fi, anime, and comics fans… and, of course, legions of cosplayers.
“Growing the show’s footprint will not only allow us to provide additional exhibitor space, but will also enable us to expand our Main Theatre so even more visitors get to enjoy the latest movies from the UK’s biggest distributors, as well as cast and crew presentations,” says MCM joint managing director Bryan Cooney.
“MCM London Comic Con just keeps getting bigger and better,” says Paul Miley, MCM’s joint managing director. “Recent shows have not only seen us host more great films, games, sci-fi shows and comic artists, but also launch exciting new zones such as VidFestUK, dedicated to online video; MCM eSports tournaments and JapanEx, giving visitors a taste of Asian culture; there really is something for everyone!”
The next MCM London Comic Con will take place on 25-27 October 2013. Visit www.mcmcomiccon.com/london for further info.
